Patricia Lorraine Brackhan, age 90 of Waco, NE died Monday, September 28, 2026 in Raymond, NE. She was born on November 3, 1935 to Lorenz and Lula Mae (Grass) Heiden in rural York County, NE. She graduated from Waco High School in 1954. On February 22, 1959 she was united in marriage to Dale R. Brackhan in Waco.
Patricia was a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church in Waco. She belonged to the LWML, that quilted a lot of quilts for the Orphan Grain Train. She worked for York County as the Deputy County Treasurer, in the Utica bank, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by children Sharilyn Steube of York, NE, Shelley (Stan) Fritz of Raymond, NE, and Steven (Dawn) Brackhan of Waco, NE, grandchildren Don Ramsey Jr (Jennifer Majerus) of Hampton, NE, Nicole Ramsey of York, Tommie Alderman (McKayla Verhage) of Fairmont, NE, Shaughnessy Byrd of Omaha, NE, deChelly Ramsey of York, Calen (Wendy) Storjohn of Seward, NE, Micah (Justene) Storjohn of Surprise, AZ, Tesia (Jamison) Wolfe of Valparaiso, NE, great-grandchildren Liam and Liliana Storjohn, Dezmund, Dominik, Drahya Alderman, Isla Storjohn, Lexi, Jackson, Gracie Wolfe, and Kaizen Ramsey, brothers Duane (Gayle) Heiden of Lincoln, and Rex (Nancy) Heiden of Waco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Shirdell, and brother Charles.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church in Waco, with the Reverend Charles Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Waco Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. Friday, with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 that evening, all at Metz Mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the Waco Fire Department or Orphan Grain Train.
