Ruth Maronde
Ruth E. Maronde, 92, of York, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 at Lincoln.
Ruth was born Jan. 19, 1925, to Edward and Matilda (Dinkelman) Markworth at McCool Junction. She graduated from McCool Junction High School and taught elementary education in rural schools. She married Harry Maronde in 1946, and they resided on the family farm just outside of York.
She loved gardening, especially flowers, which she tended dutifully. Her great cooking skills were enjoyed by her family, who she truly cherished. She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ruth was described by those who knew her as a kind and nice lady who had an ability to make friends easily. She was a devout and faithful Christian throughout her entire life.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Adene) Maronde, of York; daughter, Donna (Gary) Hammack of Lincoln, and their sons Andrew (Carly) Hammack, and Christopher (Kathleen) Hammack, both of Omaha. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Henry, Caroline and Rose, who were the delight of Ruth’s eye.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Dr. Heath Trampe officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017 with the family greeting friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m., at the mortuary in York. Interment will follow services at St. Paul’s Cemetery north of York.
