Shawn Geiszler – Metz Mortuary

Shawn Kyle Geiszler, age 42, of Aurora, NE, died Friday, June 18, 2021 at Aurora, NE. He was born February 4, 1979 in Jamestown, North Dakota. Shawn worked as a truck driver in the Aurora area for several years. On December 6, 2006, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Bowland. They were later divorced. At the time of his death, Shawn was engaged to Emily Elowsky.

​Shawn was known as an extremely hard worker who loved his family, enjoyed working on cars, and smoking meat over the weekends on his Green Mountain Grills. He was always busy helping others as he was extremely selfless with his time, willing to help everyone and anyone; strangers, neighbors, family and friends.

Shawn is survived by his sons Corey (fiance Risa Holloway) Geiszler of Fairmont, NE and Alex Geiszler of Omaha; daughter Haileigh Geiszler, also of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by his fiance Emily Elowsky of Aurora, his mother Ann (Don) Yost, his brother Dustin (Amittaia) Geiszler, and his sister Sherry Underwood all of Lincoln; along with other family and friends who loved him.

He is preceded in death by 2 uncles and 1 aunt.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, NE. Visitation will be held between the hours of 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
