He was born September 27, 1943 in York to Robert and Irene (James) Koch. On June 30, 1972, Stanley was united in marriage to Carolyn Fisbeck in York. He served his country in the United States Army. Stanley worked for York County as a fuel and tire man for 16 years, and later worked for Penner’s Tire and Auto for 4 years before retiring. He was an avid Husker Fan, enjoyed working on vehicles, and was exceptionally skilled at creating Herbie Husker themed wood carvings for his family.
Stanley is survived by his wife Carolyn Koch, sons Paul Koch of York and Tyler Effle of Omaha, NE and his daughter Sarah Koch of York; brothers Dennis Koch of York, and Les (Cathy) Koch of Lincoln; sisters Linda (Glen) Muhlbach of Dannebrog, NE, and Sharon Van Dyke of York, brother-in-law Tim Fisbeck of Fairbury. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Dorothy Fisbeck of York, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Danny, and his brother Keith.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Dr. Michael Eickhoff officiating. It was Stanley’s wishes to be cremated following funeral services. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
