He was born Aug. 24, 1986 at York to LeRoy and Gloria (Enright) Carstens. Stephen was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in York and a member of the NRA. He was a collector of many things including basketball jerseys and baseball cards. Stephen enjoyed fishing, gardening, and excelled at handy-man projects. He built fences and porches and always had a project in the works. He dearly loved his family and friends and loved spending time with them.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Jon Carstens of York; special friends, Bud, Chelsea, Mandy, Sandy, Tonya and Terry Heironymus of York, Cody Scalf of York and Coty Eubanks of York.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Bud Christensen officiating. Interment will follow in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the mortuary, with the family greeting friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
