Viola A. Gibbins, age 89 of York, NE died on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Fairmont, NE. She was born on March 11, 1934 to Elmer and Ellen (Pinneo) Gibbins in McCool Junction, NE. Viola was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York. Viola had worked as a maid and loved to clean.
She enjoyed embroidery work and loved country western music, especially Blake Shelton. One of her highlights, was traveling to Eugene, OR with her sister Eileen to visit their brother Delbert and his family.
She is survived by nephew Bradley Gibbins of Springfield, OR, nieces Wanda (Marty) Gangle and Bonnie (Mark) Vanderwall all of Eugene, OR, and 16 cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Eileen, and brother Delbert.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Metz Chapel with the Reverend Trudy Hanke officiating. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Viola has been cremated. There will be no viewing, however her family will greet friends from 6-7:30 pm on Thursday, November 16th at Metz Mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the family.
