Wallis D. Goertzen
Wallis D. Goertzen, age 85 of Henderson, NE died Monday, August 8. 2022 in Henderson. He was born April 28, 1937 in Sutton, NE to Dan C. and Anna (Janzen) Goertzen, the oldest of two children. On May 30, 1958, he was united in marriage to Rosella Peters as they were together for 64 years.
Survivors include his wife Rosella; children: Kurt and Kathryn Goertzen, Bonnie and Lanny Stauffer; grandchildren: Kelsey and Mike Bergen, Kellen Goertzen, John and Tracy Stauffer, and Jared Stauffer; great grandchildren: Jax and Jase Bergen and Haysley and Hazlyn Stauffer; sister and brother-in-law Janet and Myron Peters; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Lorraine and Dennis Kroeker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Clarence & Martha Peters, and grandson Jacob D Stauffer.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 12, 2022 at Bethesda Cemetery in Henderson, with Memorial Services to follow at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 1:00-9:00 pm Thursday with his family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00 pm that evening at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to Bethesda Mennonite Church and Henderson Health Care Services.
