    Wanda Marie Heins Wimer, age 87, of York, NE died Monday, March 18, 2019 at York, NE. She was born August 30, 1931 in Hampton, NE to Paul and Norma (Heiden) Budnick. On February 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to Keith Heins rural Hampton. She was later united in marriage to Lavern Wimer May 20, 1995 in rural Polk.

    Wanda worked at Sears in York for 20 years, and was also a teller at York State Bank. She was a long time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, York. Wanda enjoyed going on trips with the Fun Club, creating needle point crosses, and making jewelry. She enjoyed bowling, and attending all of her family’s activities.

    She is survived by her husband Lavern of York, son Brad Heins of York, daughter Pat (Rich) Brockevelt of Marquette, NE, daughters-in-law Donna Heins of York, Reesa Reel of Henderson, NE, foster son Jack Moore of New Castle, NE, her sister Ione (Roger) Arnet of Aurora, NE, and sister-in-law Roxy Heins of York. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christopher (Crystal) Heins of Kearney, Nikki (Stephen) Cooper of York, Christine (Duane) Hicks of Winston-Salem, NC, Melissa Heins of York, Justin (Allie) Heins of Lincoln, Dan Brockevelt of Omaha, and Gary (Stacy) Brockevelt of Polk, and 12 great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, sons Jim and David, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Jackie Budnick, and brother-in-law Ron Heins.

    Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, March 22, 2019 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, York with the Reverends Mike Neidow and Ben Kaiser officiating. Due to construction in the sanctuary, services will be held in the fellowship hall. Interment is scheduled at 1:30 PM Friday at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hampton. Visitation will be held 1:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, with her family greeting friends 6:00 – 7:30 PM Thursday evening at the mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
