William “Bill” Holt

    William C. Holt, age 85 of York, NE died on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Columbus, NE. He was born July 30, 1938 to Leonard and Emma (Morgan) Holt in Jasper, Arkansas. Bill served his country as a member of the United States Army. He had worked for Nebraska Public Power District as a hydraulic mechanic.

    On July 6, 1957, Bill was united in marriage to Hazel Longwell in Nebraska City, NE. After Hazel passed away, he was united in marriage to Judy Simons.

    Bill was a Pastor of Foursquare Church in York and was involved with the Royal Rangers program. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

    He is survived by his sister Susie (Gerry) Pfannkushe; son, the Rev. Douglas (Rev. Liana) Holt Sr of Columbus; Doug’s children: Douglas “Skip” (Valerie) Holt Jr of Omaha, Danica (Quelbin) Izaguirre of Columbus, Mitchell (Rev. Naomi) Holt of Beatrice, Dr. Bennett (Courtney) Holt of Columbus, Christina (Michael) Odero of Orlando, Florida, Heather (Jared) Mulligan of Columbus, Hazelle Holt of Columbus, Doug’s grandchildren: Douglas “Cal” Holt III, Alexia Holt, Kelvin “Michael” Izaguirre, Ivy Izaguirre, Charles Izaguirre, Mitchell “Haze” Holt, Jr., Logan Holt, and Brielle Mulligan. He is also survived by Teresa Coon’s children: Jamie (Tedd) Stell of Grand Island, Tabitha Miller of York, William “B.J.” (Kristin) Stell, Teresa’s grandchildren: Cole (Belinda) Stell, Demitrius (Andrew) Kohtz, Ariana Kohtz, Baylee (Coby) Kohtz, Brooke (Jordan) Swedlund, Ty (Roxann) Miller, Jersey Stell, Jordyn Stell, Brodie Stell, and William Stell. Teresa’s great-grandchildren: Stormy Hoeft, Nikolia Stell, Ember Stell, Noah Plock, Alaric Plock, Kiaus Plock, Draco Kohtz, Zack Miller, Jasper Miller.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, daughter Teresa Coon, great-granddaughter Delilah Stell, and eleven siblings.

    Graveside services with military honors are scheduled for 4:00 pm, Friday, June 21, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery in York, NE. Bill has been cremated. There will be no viewing, however, visitation and signing of his book will be held on Thursday from 1-8 pm, with family greeting friends from 6-7:30 pm at Metz Mortuary in York. Memorials may be directed to the family.
